EJAC delegation calls on Commissioner/Secy GAD, raises employees' issues

SRINAGAR, July 6: A delegation of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) met Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD) Manoj Kumar Divedi at Civil Secretariat Srinagar. The delegation was led by the president, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam. In the meeting, almost all the issues faced by the employees' of different departments of JK were discussed. The issues were thoroughly elaborated before the worthy officer. All the leaders present in the meeting hailed the pro-employee attitude of worthy commissioner secretary. The president thanked the generous officer for his keenness to work on the issues confronted by the employees. Shabnam said that the employees of Jk are working with zeal, zest and enthusiasm and the biggest reason for the same is the cordial atmosphere between the administration and employees. The delegation presented a charter of demands before the worthy commissioner secretary and undertook a threadbare discussion on each and every point raised in the charter. Several issues confronted by the employees were highlighted in the charter including regularization of all types of temporary workers encompassing daily wagers, casual labourers, seasonal workers et al, implementation of Minimum Wages Act in favour of all temporary workers as per the required norms, regulation of the services of CAMPA workers and the release of their salaries for a full calendar year instead of six months, resolution of the pay anomaly of all employees working in the pre-revised grade of 6500-10500 and granting them a pre revised grade of 7450-225-11500 on the analogy of Section Officers vide SRO 259 dated 18/07/2007 and Assistant Accounts Officers, enhancement of the retirement age of employees employed in CENTAUR from 58 to 60 years and settlement of all pending issues vide order number 406 dated 03/05/2021 besides several other issues.
The Commissioner/ Secretary GAD intently listened to the issues raised and assured the delegation that these issues would be taken up on a fast track basis.
