Jal Jeevan Mission: DC Kathua reviews implementation of plan proposals

KATHUA, July 9: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Yadav today reviewed the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission plan here at a meeting held in DC Office Complex.
At the outset, Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic, Sanjeev Malhotra apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the progress made so far. He said that out of 257 Panchayats of the district, data for 209 Panchayat Pani Samitis and against total 512 villages, Village Action Plans (VAP) of 309 have been uploaded on IMIS portal.
During the meeting, the DC took a detailed review of the status of water connections to Schools, Anganwadi Workers, Health Institutions and Panchayat Ghars.
It was revealed that against the target of 1391 institutions, 1143 have been provided with tap water and work on the majority of the remaining points have been allotted.
The DC called upon the officers to expedite the process so that water supply can be provided to left out households at an earliest. He said that the objective of the scheme is to provide safe and adequate water to all households by the end of 2022 which requires coordinated efforts of all the stakeholders right from planning to its execution on ground.
DC Kathua, Rahul Yadav also reviewed the work undertaken by the concerned departments for Water Conservation, Grey Water management and role of the Implementing Support Agencies.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Puneet Sharma; CPO Uttam Singh; DPO, DFO, DWSO and other concerned officers.
