SRINAGAR, July 9: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 261 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 18,284. With a fresh virus related death reported in past 24 hours the death toll reached 4,354. Srinagar district reported 59 cases followed by Doda district 34, Jammu district 26, Reasi district 16, Kulgam district 15, Baramulla and Ganderbal districts 14 each, Anantnag district 12, Kupwara district 11, Budgam and Ramban districts 10 each, Kishtwar district nine, Poonch district eight, Rajouri district six, Bandipora district five, Pulwama district four and Shopian, Udhampur, Kathua & Samba districts two cases each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 261 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 115 from Jammu division and 146 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 18,284. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 304 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 115 from Jammu division and 189 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 92.58 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 18,284 positive cases, 3,300 are active positive, 3, 10,630 have recovered and 4,354 have died; 2,125 in Jammu division and 2,229 in Kashmir division. Out of 1, 05, 01,931 test results available, 1, 01, 83,647 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 25, 28,982 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 7,152 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,300 in isolation and 2, 66,506 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 47,670 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,569 positive cases, 649 active positive, 69,088 recovered, 832 deaths; Baramulla has 23,382 positive cases, 218 active positive, 22,884 recovered, 280 deaths; Budgam has 22,713 positive cases, 181 active positive, 22,328 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,217 positive cases, 91 active positive, 15,922 recovered, 204 deaths; Pulwama has 14,999 positive cases, 121 active positive, 14,685 recovered, 193 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,924 positive cases, 160 active positive, 13,599 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,169 positive cases, 138 active positive, 10,915 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,719 positive cases, 163 active positive, 9,479 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 9,369 positive cases, 78 active positive, 9,191 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,565 positive cases, 10 active positive, 5,497 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,526 positive cases, 434 active positive, 50,955 recovered, 1,137 deaths; Udhampur has 11,226 positive cases, 57 active positive, 11,037 recovered, 132 deaths; Rajouri has 10,787 positive cases, 91 active positive, 10,474 recovered, 222 deaths; Kathua has 9,228 positive cases, 14 active positive, 9,065 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,096 positive cases, 53 active positive, 6,924 recovered, 119 deaths. “Doda has 7,025 positive cases, 245 active positive, 6,659 recovered, 121 deaths; Poonch has 6,166 positive cases, 132 active positive, 5,940 recovered, 94 deaths; Reasi has 6,160 positive cases, 297 active positive, 5,820 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,901 positive cases, 80 active positive, 5,756 recovered, 65 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,543 positive cases, 88 active positive, 4,412 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 18,284 positive cases in J&K, 22,673 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin said that that there are 2,423 COVID dedicated beds, 2,019 isolation beds with 1,955 vacant beds and 404 ICU beds where 383 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3,353 COVID dedicated beds, 3,074 isolation beds where 2,923 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 229 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 5,776 COVID dedicated beds, 5,093 isolation beds with 4,878 beds vacant and 683 ICU beds with 612 vacant beds in Jammu and Kashmir. The central government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases. The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install e-sanjeevani OPD app from Google play store. Besides, 24x7 Rapid Antigen Testing facilities for COVID-19 have been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu. Meanwhile, a 24x7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
