NCP delegation calls on Delimitation Commission, presents memorandum | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 9: National Joint Secretary and Spokesperson NCP Youth Er Rishi Kilam appreciated the centre and JKUT administration for taking the extra ordinary good steps in JKUT in the best interests of the people in certain matters. NCP JK unit warmly and sincerely welcomes the members of the Delimitation Commission who are on mission to reshape and reorganize the constituencies. The delimitation exercise was much needed and the demand of the J&K right thinking people, the NCP leader said. The delimitation process will definitely end the imbalance of areas in certain constituencies and will end the regional discrimination as most of our constituencies are demarcated and divided in a hafazard manner and are not people /voter friendly in J&K. It is in place to mention here, as it appears to our mind that previously some vested interest leaders of J&K perhaps with the help of concerned authorities for their vote bank have changed the demography of areas of certain assembly constituencies by way of including or leaving some areas as per their choice in their respective constituencies which needs to be verified and checked. For example in district Kulgam Devsar constituency should get the status back of 1970 as it has been changed and is with some other constituencies also. NCP's demand is to include the genuine issue of Kashmiri Pandit migrants who are living in exile for the last over 30 years in other parts of the country especially in Jammu should be given political representation with at least reservation of 3 constituencies as they are the most deserving ones. There should be equal justice with Kashmir and Jammu and SC/ST and minority section should get the reservation quota. Others present in the delegation included Mashqur Ahmed Bhat Vice President, Ravi Kumar, Pawan Kumar and Bharat Kumar. |
