Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 11: A virtual meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers-Masters Association (JKTMA) was convened under the chairmanship of its state president Rakesh Singh to discuss and raised objections against transfer proposals under ATD 2021.
The meeting was attended by all District executive bodies including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch along with various zonal executive bodies.
The meet discussed in detail the burning issue of wrong transfers done by violation of transfer policies issued from time to time. Association expressed strong resentment against the transfer proposals and alleged that lot of nepotism and favouritism is manifested in the list only to adjust some near and dears in the favourable places ignoring the deserving teachers who rendered their services in hard zones for more than 4 to 6 years. Association alleged that in the list various mutual and Zero km transfers have been done and there are cases where teachers after rendering more than 10 years in the urban school is again transferred to urban schools only on the pretext of NCC which is grave injustice with hard zone teachers. Singh said that "in few cases local teachers are transferred on Zero K.M but the teachers of High School of the same area is not transferred on the pretext that school is understaffed.
Vikram Gupta, state vice president, alleged that "there are instances where teachers who have given choices for particular schools are not adjusted against their choices but some other teachers who has not opted for that particular schools are transferred in that school thus contradicting their own policy and need to sort out all such cases individual to individual basis.
Vivek Gupta, state general secretary, expressed strong resentment against the concerned higher authorities for not issuing a formal order to release the Transfer Allowance (TA) for month of June 2021 in favour of I/C MDM and I/C Book distribution teachers for their work done during this month. He urged Lieutenant Governor to personally intervene in this matter.
Association asked all Chief Education Officers to review whole list as per guidelines and involving all urban teachers who have not applied under ATD 2021 or ready to face strong protest from teaching community.
