NSS units GDC Kathua celebrates World Population Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: NSS Units GDC Kathua celebrates World Population Day on virtual mode under the patronage of Principal Assa Ram Sharma. The primary concern with observing a day entirely as World Population Day was to center attention on the immediacy and consequence of population issues in the context of overall development plans and programs and the need to find solutions for these issues of the effects of growing population. The greatest identifiable threat caused due to over population is the alarmingly fast depletion of natural resources and threat to sustainability. The World Population is also an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of brotherhood and to realize the responsibility we have towards another in this great big world. In this connection a poster making competition was organized in which more than hundred of volunteers participated. Volunteers made poster on alarming situations like fast depletion of natural resources and threat to sustainability caused due to over population. Volunteers also made poster on the spirit of brotherhood because this day was also celebrates as spirit of brotherhood. The event was organized under the supervision of NSS Prog officers Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral |
