UDHAMPUR, July 13: Government Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with MGNCRE, Department of Higher Education, Union Ministry of Education organized an online interactive session on the topic Psychological Support for the Covid Pandemic situation (Covid Helper Skill for the Student Community).
The webinar was conducted by the NSS unit of the college. Dr Rippy Bawa, the NSS PO, presented the welcome address. The key note speaker for the interactive session was Ankita Kumari, Resource person MGNCRE Union Ministry of Education. She talked about the psychological treatment of the Covid patients during this pandemic. She made the participants aware about the different situations that arise in the covid hit families and how we as helpers can provide them with physical, mental, emotional and even financial support to make them overcome this disaster. The NSS PO Dr Rippy Bawa in her lecture deliberated upon the necessity of remaining positive and happy by avoiding the negative and depressing things. She also urged everyone to maintain social relations with friends family and others through phone calls and other social media. The webinar was attended by other faculty members of the college too which included Prof Babu Lal Thakur, HoD Education, Prof Ramesh Attri,HoD Botany, Prof Kamal Kishore, Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma, HoD Sericulture, Prof Samosh Kumara, HoD Music, Dr Pankaj Sharma, Prof Shajji Khan and others. The Principal of the college, Prof Subhash Chander Sharma awarded the volunteers about the active role that the volunteers have to perform in such tough situations.
