Government must formulate fast track policies to promote tourism: Col Mahan Singh | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, July 13: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, Col Mahan Singh has said that the unexplored tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory present the best scenic charm and have the full potential of boosting J&K's economy. However, for this the government must formulate fast track policies to develop these destinations in order to attract maximum tourist footfall, he asserted. Col Mahan Singh stated this during his visit to Dhaggar area of Tehsil Bani in District Kathua which is one of the unexplored most beautiful tourist destinations not only in the district but in the Union Territory as a whole. Stressing upon the need of the hour for the development of the area, he said one can enjoy natural beauty here amidst meadows, pine forests, water bodies, snow bound mountains all around with nature at its best in this area having a unique topography. Such unexplored tourist destinations crave attention of the authorities, especially the tourism department. The concerned departments must formulate fast track policies to develop these destinations from the tourism point of view. It needs to be realized by all the stakeholders that once the task of development is accomplished in the shortest possible time span, these are going to play a vital role in equitable boosting of the economy across the length and breadth of the J&K Union Territory. The DDC Chairman emphasized that Atal Setu, Purthu, Dhar Mahanpur, Garanda (Godal), Chala, Ram Rachna, Sarthal, Daggar, Jouda Mata, Jodia Mata, Dhoulla Mata falling in Bani and Basohli constituencies are some of the unique tourists destinations and if these are developed properly they can match any popular tourist destination in the country. |
