Add one more Assembly segment in Samba district, demands Arun

SAMBA, July 13: Welcoming the initiative taken by the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restoration of political process in J&K UT, Janta Vikas Manch, Samba said that it is for the betterment and welfare of the masses.
Addressing a press conference, Janta Vikas manch president Arun Kumar Sharma said that the constitution of Delimitation Commission is for re-organizing/delimiting the Assembly segments which would ensure representation to all categories, castes and creeds.
He said that being a stakeholder and public representative he along with his team met the Delimitation Commission at Jammu and submitted the memorandum. He said that the limit of assembly segments should be fixed keeping in view the area, current population and feasibility i.e. road connectivity. He further said that Samba district deserves one more constituency on the basis of its geographical situation, current population and area.
He demanded a new assembly segment to be named as Pumandal (Shota Kassi) or Devika Constituency while reorganization/delimitation exercise is taken up.
He urged the Government of India while exercising the power of section 8 of Representation of the People Act, 1950, to consider the interest of Jammu people who trusted the BJP and gave it a huge mandate in the Jammu region. Others who accompanied Arun Sharma during the presser included Ankush Sharma, President Yuva Janta Vikas Manch J&K UT, Capt. Attar Chand, Dinesh Singh Sambyal and Akash Choudhary.
