Deputy Commissioner interacts with BGSBU Vice-Chancellor | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, July 13: Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan today paid a visit to the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) and interacted with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akbar Masood to work out the strategy to initiate various welfare measures for the youth and overall development of the district. The BGSU is a premier institute in Rajouri district where the students from across the UT of J&K come to pursue their higher studies. The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the Vice Chancellor and discussed with him the key steps to be taken for the overall development of the youth in the society. Some of the issues hampering the development of the university were also discussed in depth. It was apprised that the financial aid to be provided by Auqaf Trust to the university has not been paid since 2018. Besides it was also highlighted that the adequate funding in terms of Grant in aid needs to be made available as the university is still at infancy stage and needs proper backup and support for overall growth. The Deputy Commissioner and the Vice Chancellor along with the other staff members also took a round of the university. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Government is very concerned about the empowerment of Youth and as such various schemes have been launched from time to time for their empowerment. The Deputy Commissioner added that the overall developmental process of an area lies in the future of the youth of that area and as such the proper development and empowerment of the youth is important for the society. The Vice Chancellor said that the Institute is committed to providing all possible support on its part for the betterment of the youth and assured to work in close coordination with the District Administration in this regard. |
