DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-adha | FCS&CA deptt asked to distribute 100% ration before Eid; PHE, PDD directed to ensure uninterrupted supply | | Early Times Report
POONCH, July 14: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today convened a meeting of officers and religious heads to review the arrangements for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-adha. During the meeting, the religious representatives and civil society members raised various demands including uninterrupted supply of Water and Electricity, distribution of ration, proper sanitation, setting up mandies for sacrificial animals( Goat /Sheep) and various other issues. The DC directed the AD FCS&CA to ensure distribution of 100% ration quota among the people before Eid so that they do not face any difficulty in this regard. He directed the CEO Municipality to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness around the religious places. The concerned were asked to take appropriate measures for enforcement of Covid-19 protocols at the mandies and other designated places set up for the sale of sacrificial animals (Goat/Sheep). The Executive engineers of PHE and PDD were asked to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity especially during the EID days. The DC instructed wthe Food Safety department to activate its Market Surveillance Squads to check the quality of food items such as Bakery, Confectionery, Milk, Meat Chicken, Vegetables and other essentials and take strict action against the erring traders. The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinod Kumar; Additional District Development Commissioner, Abdul Sattar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheet Kaifi; Chief Medical Officer, Dr G.A Malik; Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khattak, CEO Municipality, Executive Engineers, ARTO Poonch, AD Food besides Religious Heads and Prominent Citizens were also present.
