Ex militant turned absconder arrested after 15 years | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Time Report
Jammu, July 14: Police claimed to have arrested an Ex militant turned absconder, who was involved in the killing of a civilian Abdul Majeed Bhawani of Sigdi Bhata in Mughal Maidan Tehsil of Chatroo Sub-Division in Kishtwar district. According to police the accused was evading arrest for the last over 15 years. The arrested accused, identified as Ghulam Hassan S/o Lassa Chopan R/o Pahalgam Sigdi Tehsil Mugalmaidan Kishtwar, wanted in case FIR No. 17/2006 U/Sec 302/364 RPC 4/25 IA Act registered at Police Station Chatroo. Speaking to Early Times, senior police officials said that on a specific information, a special police team of PS Chatroo was constituted led by Inspector Sandeep Singh Parihar. Under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar Devinder Singh Bandral, the team raided the suspected locations and arrested the absconder. SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt appreciated the police party for their alertness and swift action. Earlier on July 6, Kishtwar police arrested another militant absconding since 13 years for his involvement in killing of a cop in an encounter that took place in Kidroo area of Padder. The official sources told the Early Times that the arrested militant along with two other militants Hashim and Mohammad Rafi enter inside the house of civilian Abdul Majeed Bhawani of Bhata Sigdi and killed him added that Hashim is in jail while Rafi was eliminated by the security forces in an encounter. |
