Kathua achieves 90% inoculation of 45 yr and above age group: DC Rahul Yadav

KATHUA, July 14: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav, today advised the people not to lower guard against covid amid the easing of restrictions and continue to adhere to the SOPs as new social norm to minimise the chances of Covid resurgence in the district.
He was briefing media persons at the weekly presser here at DC office complex.
The DC said although the Covid 19 cases are on constant decline but reporting of 11 new cases in Kathua town shows that people are not adhering to Covid Appropriate Behaviour which is to be taken seriously.
On ongoing Covid Vaccination drive, the Deputy Commissioner informed that Kathua has achieved 90% inoculation of 45 yr and above age group, while focused attention is being given to speed up the vaccination of the 18+ age group.
He appealed to the people to avoid social gatherings and follow COVID-19 appropriate behavior for their own safety and their loved ones.
He said as the people are not following the covid-19 appropriate behavior while visiting the market and other such public places, the Police and District Administration has deputed teams to randomly check the commercial establishments and Market areas & to take action against violators. He said this exercise will be fruitful only when people will cooperate with the administration.
