Early Times Report
DODA, July 14: District Administration Doda has started the process to constitute Panchayat level Youth Clubs and Sports Clubs in the run up to implement the Mission Youth - an ambitious programme conceived and launched by Government of Jammu and Kashmir to engage the youth in productive activities through varied interventions.
The modalities for the implementation of the scheme were discussed today at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr R K Bharti. The meeting was attended by the concerned key stakeholders to discuss the procedure for constitution of Panchayat level Youth Clubs in the district, which forms one of the main components of the Mission Youth.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, District Social Welfare Officer, DIO, AD DE&CC, DYSSO, LBM, Zonal Head JK Bank, besides the representative of Skill development department and others.
During the meeting, it was informed that the scheme has 6 vital components among which the formation of Youth Clubs and Sports Clubs forms the basic component. These clubs are to be constituted before the implementation of other vital components.
A basic eligibility criterion has been fixed by the Government for the club members which has to be taken into account while formulation of the Youth Clubs.
These groups will be given grants in aid by the Government on a monthly basis to take out the assigned activities and the top 3 performing groups would be awarded on International Volunteers day.
The ADC said that a District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) would be constituted for the implementation of all the components of the scheme. He directed the AD DE&CC and DIO Doda to maintain coordination with the other stakeholders for the smooth implementation of the scheme in the district.
Moreover, it was decided in the meeting that a comprehensive order would be issued directing the ADC Bhaderwah, ACR Doda and all SDMs to start the constitution of Panchayat Youth Clubs in coordination with ACP Doda and PRI members, while the District Youth Services and Sports Officer has to submit the action plan for the formation of Panchayat wise Sports clubs in two days.
The ADC stressed upon the officer to pool and synergize their efforts for the smooth implementation of the ambitious scheme which is being keenly monitored by the LG UT of J&K.
