BJP leader condemns police action against students | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 14: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) youth wing leader, actor and Director Tarun Sharma has condemned police action against the students of class 10th who were holding peaceful protests seeking mass promotion in examination. Tarun Sharma expressed his serious concern over the harsh attitude of the police personnel towards the students. "It was their constitutional right to hold protests if the authorities were not listening to them. The thrashing of peacefully protesting students is not acceptable as the students were protesting for genuine demands,", he said. "The School Education Department must promote all the students of class 10th to the next class in view of the continuous closing of schools and improper online teaching. The students of rural and hilly areas were the worst sufferers of online teaching which could not cater the needs of the students and the doubts and questions of the students were not taken by the teachers during the online classes. In these circumstances, the students are not prepared to appear in the examination, and therefore, they all should be promoted," said Tarun Sharma. He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for his intervention into the thrashing and detention of the students at Tawi Bridge. |
