| GDC Sidhra organizes online intra-college book review | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 14: Literary Club of Government Degree College Sidhra under the patronage of worthy Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma organised an Online Intra-college book review competition on July 13th.
The Title of the book was "Ignited Minds" by A.P.J Abdul Kalam. A number of students from different semesters participated in the activity. The participants were judged by Prof. Shashi Prabha, Associate Professor, Department of English and Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Head Department of Urdu of the College.
The result of the activity was declared on 14th of July 2021 in which Wasiq-ul-Hassan of B.A Sem II, and Shafeeq ul Rehman of B.A Sem IV, GDC Sidhra shared the Ist and second position respectively.
Participants tried their best to review the book while focussing on the main argument and the character of the book on which the book revolves. They further highlighted the detailed description of the ideas, benefits and compelling information discussed in the book. The purpose of this activity was to build confidence among the students and improve their self efficiency. It helped them to inculcate the habit of reading and analysing the book from the perspective of the author and subsequently finding the limitations of the book
Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma congratulated the student participants for their participation in the event and also stressed upon that there is a dire need to encourage students for such activities so that they could gain confidence in reading, writing and speaking.
The event was organized by Prof. Meesha Bhagat, Convener, Literary Club of the college, Dept. of Political Science and coordinated by Prof. Mehmood Ahmed and Prof. Satbir Kour, members of Literary Club of the college. |
