Yasha Mudgal reviews implementation of development projects in Ramban District
Directs to float tenders for all works approved under “Back to Village” initiative

RAMBAN, July 14: The Secretary to the Government, Cooperatives, Yasha Mudgal, who is also the In-charge Secretary for Ramban district, today reviewed the overall developmental activities especially the achievements and progress under the flagship programmes and the ongoing national projects like 4-laning of NH44 and Railway Line besides the Covid management, here at a meeting.
Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam; Additional Development Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rajni Sharma; Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal; ACR Dherinder Sharma; ACD, Zameer Rishu; DPO, CMO, CAO, CEO,DFOs, Executive Engineers besides other officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner gave a PowerPoint Presentation about the latest status of various important projects besides the achievements of different departments and also discussed the bottlenecks confronting progress on execution of projects.
The Secretary took a comprehensive review of the progress of various developmental projects including Rural Development Department, Power, Health, ICDS, Education, Jal Shakti Department, PWD and other sectors.
The DC also apprised the Secretary about the physical and financial status of major development Projects taken up by various executing agencies and departments in the district.
Threadbare discussion was also held on key centrally sponsored schemes which are part of the District Development Plan and necessary directions were passed to the concerned to achieve tangible results.
The Secretary appreciated the district administration for effective implementation of developmental schemes.
The Secretary directed the PMGSY department to speed up the tendering process besides completion of all ongoing construction work of roads and buildings.
She also took stock of the implementation of key schemes including PMAY (R) Rural and PMAY (U) Urban, UMEED, MGNREGA, registration of Ayushman Bharat besides progress of major development projects.
The DC also apprised the Secretary about the section-wise progress on four-laning of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway including Nashri-Ramban and Ramban-Banihal sections.
While briefing about latest Covid situation and its management in the district, the DC informed that 90% population in 45 year and above age group has been vaccinated and the Ramban district alongwith Reasi, is leading in 18-44 age group vaccination. He also informed that under the PMJAY-Sehat as many as 22,000 persons have been registered and 550 persons have also availed the insurance under the scheme.
The Secretary directed to form FPOs of Self Help Groups and dairy farming besides Anardana, apple, peas, honey under nationwide programme- ‘One District, One Product’ to uplift the economy of farmers.
She stressed on the availability of basic amenities like water, toilets and electricity in all schools and directed to utilize unspent money in various central government schemes for this.
She directed to float tenders for all works under B2V1, B2V2 and B2V3 to expedite development in rural areas, besides calling for holding monthly review of important departments and projects.
She directed to decrease the school drop-out rate and increase the literacy rate in the district.
Responding to the issues raised by the district administration, she assured to project the same at the appropriate quarters to ensure sustainable and fast development in the district.
