7/16/2021 11:19:59 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 16: Reliance Jio has started steaming live 'aarti' from Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalaya on JioTV in order to facilitate devotees, who are unable to have physical 'darshan' following cancellation of the annual yatra due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials said that Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio was able to put in place all the necessary network and infrastructure to support live streaming established in a very short turnaround time, despite difficult terrain and challenging conditions
The development comes over a week after Lt Governor Manoj Sinha launched online service of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) to facilitate devotees from across the world to perform virtual puja, hawan and get prasad at their doorsteps.
The annual yatra to Amarnath cave shrine was cancelled for the second successive year due to COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, in 2019 the pilgrimage was stopped and pilgrims were asked to leave as a precautionary measure following abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A on August 5.
Reliance Jio introduces an immersive virtual experience of Amarnath Shrine with live streaming of Aarti on JioTV and a host of other services through its various apps to benefit millions of devotees across the country. "Shri Amarnath ji Shrine Board Darshan channel has been introduced on JioTV to live stream aartis from the sacred shrine. Viewers can watch live aarti as per specific timings and see the recorded version during balance of the dayon JioTV. There are two main Aartis daily during the day. (Aarti Timings: Morning 060 hrs to 0630 hrs and 1700 hrs to 1730 hrs)," they said.
They said to perform a special Pooja and Darshan of the holy ice 'lingam' in their name in a virtual online room, devotees can book the service offered by the shrine board by visiting the 'Book OnlinePooja/Hawan/Prasad'section on theirwebsite www.shriamarnathjishrine.comor through the board's mobile app.
Once the booking process is completed, devotees will receive a link for the virtual online room on JioMeet. Devotees can join this room at the specific time and the virtual Pooja / Hawan would be carried out by the priest at the holy cave by pronouncing the 'name'and 'gotra' of the devotee along with chanting of 'mantras and shlokas'.
They said for the benefit of those who may not have access to JioTV, a comprehensive information and broadcast service has been introduced on JioChat-the instant messaging, video calling and conferencing app from Jio. "The app has introduced a dedicated Amarnath Darshan Channel for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board - wherein the board can broadcast information and videos to its numerous followers, including information on live darshan, aarti timings, details on donation methodology and prasad home delivery dispatch," they said.
They said the JioChat Channel also facilitates a two-way communication between the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and followers. The JioChat Channel will continue to be of great help in future Yatras to Shri Amarnath Ji as well. This app is freely available across all App stores and is agnostic to mobile service provider thus delivering these virtual services to the devotees of Sh Amarnathji from across the world," they added.
Last week, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also chairman of the board, launched the online service of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), saying that the devotees of Lord Shiva from across the world can perform virtual puja, hawan and get prasad at their doorsteps.
"For millions of devotees who are unable to visit the shrine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shrine Board has brought Darshan, Hawan, and Prasad facility under the virtual mode. The devotees can book their Pooja, Hawan, and Prasad online, and priests at the holy cave will offer it in the devotee's name. Prasad will be subsequently delivered at doorsteps of the devotees," an SASB spokesperson said.
He said with the launch of the services, the devotees of Lord Shiva from across the world can perform online virtual puja and hawan at the Holy Cave. "Online prasad booking service was also extended to the devotees through this initiative. SASB is extending online services including Virtual Pooja for devotees in their name, Virtual Hawan(with darshan) by name & Online Prasad booking," he said.
The Shrine board had already arranged for live telecast of morning and evening aarti from Holy Cave of Lord Shiva both on TV and Digital platforms after Yatra was cancelled for the second consecutive year in the wake of Covid surge.
