JAMMU, July 16: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge J and K affairs Rajni Patil Ex MP today reviewed the overall political situation and discussed the road map for party' ahead in the wake of geared up political activities. Patil who is on five tour of Jammu and Kashmir, today continued day long interaction with the party leaders at various levels including PCC, DCC, Frontal wing functionaries , former legislators, and other senior leaders to take the ground feedback and draw the future strategy for strengthening the party at different levels.
On return from Katra today morning where she along with JKPCC Chief GA Mir and AICC Spokesperson Ragni Nayak, Jugal Kishore Sharma Ex-Minister, Manmohan Singh and Hari Singh Chib visited Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, took series of meetings with different teams of leaders and activists and sought the report from various quarters and all over Jammu province.
She was apprised of the feed- back from the ground about the feelings of the people and the resentment amongst the people over the failure of the centre government on various fronts especially in fulfilling the local aspirations and commitments by the BJP to Jammu region and different sections.
She was apprised about the main demand of the people for restoration of statehood to J and K put forth before the Delimitation Commission by the Congress party before holding assembly elections at the earliest.
The large number of party leaders and office bearers from different districts met the AICC leader in Jammu office today and gave their inputs about the situation and told her that people are against BJP government over various issues especially depriving of the identification and dignity and rights of Jammu and Kashmir besides price rise, large scale unemployment, arrogance of ruling leaders and the bureaucratic regime and corruption , sale of resources and unprecedented price hike of all commodities including sand & bajri.
Rajni Patil said that Congress party is struggling since day one for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir which has been arbitrarily downgraded into a UT against the wishes of people. she said before the all party meeting in Delhi, Congress party deliberated upon the issues Very seriously at all levels including at the highest level and the view point of the party was put forward in the all party meeting by the Congress delegation led by senior leader Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Earlier PCC chief G.A. Mir briefed the participants about the ongoing struggle for the restoration of statehood with constitutional safeguards and for highlighting the failures of the BJP government at the centre and exhorted the cadres to be ready for bigger struggle for the rights of people democratically. People yearn for change from the present set up and creation of new political order for which congress workers have to be ready to take the opportunity
