| GDC Khour organized online workshop | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 16: Government Degree College Khour under the patronage of worthy Principal Prof Hans Raj organized one day online workshop for the students on "Psycho-Social support for Covid pandemic conditions" in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The resource person for the workshop was Madam Kiran Chandel from MGNCRE, Govt. of India. The workshop was inaugurated by the worthy Principal Prof. Hans Raj, who welcomed the resource person.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr Deepti Gupta, Head, Department of Sociology. About 100 students registered for the workshop and participated actively. The resource person Madam Kiran Chandel made an interactive presentation involving all the student participants. It was an informative training for them to become a Covid warrior. All the essential qualities for being a psycho-social support in the community in this pandemic condition were discussed and their relevance was explained.
She taught them the importance of being observant and careful with empathy and sympathy. This workshop was the part of national drive to engage educational institutions in the online and offline community services in the present pandemic situation. It was an instrumental step taken up by MGNCRE in providing orientation to enable students to explore various online avenues of offering counselling and related services.
Dr. Deepti Gupta, Assistant professor In Sociology presented the formal vote of thanks at the end of the session. All the Faculty members of the college attended the workshop. |
