Vijay Diwas: CoS HQ 1 pays homage to martyrs of Kargil war

JAMMU, July 27: To commemorate the celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas Major General Patanjali Rahul, VSM, Chief of Staff (CoS), Headquarter 1 Corps along with troops stationed at Mathura Garrison paid homage to the brave soldiers of Indian Army who made supreme sacrifice on this day in the line of duty during the Kargil War of 1999. On the occasion, Major General Patanjali Rahul, VSM Chief of Staff laid wreath at the war memorial located at Mathura Cantonment and exhorted all to reminisce the bravery of the martyred soldiers and rededicate themselves to the safety and honour of the country.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated to commemorate the victory of India in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1999. Kargil War has been a symbol of bravery of our young officers and soldiers who despite heavy odds pushed Pakistani intruders out of the Indian Territory in Kargil and Drass districts of J&K. On this day Indian Army successfully captured and maintained high mountains peaks from the intruding enemy. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26th July every year in honour of Kargil War’s Heroes all over the country.
