7/27/2021 11:32:33 PM

Early Times Report

Vijaypur, July 27: Former minister and legislator of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Yashpal Kundal today visited Shiv Nagar area to take stock of the situation caused by recent floods.
Local residents Ruldu, Suraj, Papi, Jyoti Devi, Satveer Kaur informed Kundal that they have been living in Shiv Nagar for 20 years. In these 20 years, three MLAs were elected but Shiv Nagar has always been a victim of neglect.
“Whenever any elections come, only false promises are made. After taking vote no one goes towards Shiv Nagar. Mud accumulates in the streets of Shiv Nagar, making it difficult to pass through,” he said.
People told that many times they have gone to the BDO block demanding to make the streets of Shiv Nagar pucca, but no official talks with them. Jyoti Devi said that inflation has broken the back of the people in the BJP rule. The BJP had promised that it would end poverty, but it is only trying to eliminate the poor people. Mustard oil has gone near 200, how will we eat. He said that we are poor people, even after filling the form many times, we are not getting money even to build toilets. From Panch to Block Officer, they demand commission, after all, where should we go, she said.
After hearing the plight of the people, Kundal said that about 10 people from Shiv Nagar would come to him. He himself will accompany them to the block office and ask the officials why the streets of Shiv Nagar have not been built till date. At the same time, it will also be asked why the commission is sought for the construction of the toilets.
