Narinder takes stock of damaged nallah
7/27/2021 11:33:47 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 27: Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee (PH&SC) JMC, Narinder Singh Jamwal today visited Ward No: 64 and 67 and took stock of nallah that has got damaged due to the ongoing incessant rains and floods.
During his interaction with the residents of these wards, the PHSC Chairman was apprised of their sanitation and other problems especially during the rainy season when the nallahs in the area overflow due to blockades. Jamwal after listening patiently to their woes said that the JMC teams are on duty and are clearing the blockades in Nallahs across the city so that the general public may not suffer in this rainy season.
After hearing the people, Jamwal directed the UEED officials accompanying him to immediately restore the damaged portions of the Nallah in these wards besides immediately clearing the blockades so that there is free flow of rain water without any chance of overflowing of the aforesaid water which then inundates the residential areas causing extensive damage. Jamwal also met the flood affected families in these wards and assured them all possible help for damages suffered by them on account of flash floods.
Meanwhile, Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee (PH&SC) JMC appealed to the people of the area not to throw garbage into the nallah as it becomes the main cause of blockades resulting in rain water getting deviated and inundating residential areas causing loss of property. He said while the JMC men and machinery is on the job the people also need to play their due role as civilized citizens.
