| Police rescue 13 bovines; vehicle seized | | |

SAMBA, July 27: District Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 13 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding the transportation of bovines, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a Truck having Registration No JK02AU-2967 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle and fled away from the spot.
The alert cops successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few metres away from the naka point. However, the driver managed to escape.
During checking of the said vehicle, 13 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 145/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started. |
