July 27: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Health & Sanitation Standing Committee JMC, Suraj Parkash Padha Councilor of ward no.67, Mohinder Kumar Bhagat Councilor of ward no.61, conducted an extensive tour of Nai Basti Colony near lower Muthi, Anand Nagar Bohri & other adjoining localities of ward no.67, 61.
They took stock of the situation arisen due to continues rains and overflowing of nallah/deep drains flowing in the locality.
He also met with the residents who told the mayor the difficulties which they are facing especially during every rainy season as dirty water, silt etc scatters in the adjoining lanes and even enters into the low lying residential locality.
Mayor listened to their grievances with great patience and assured that all their genuine issues regarding renovation/remodeling of nallah and other allied works will be executed on priority basis. Besides this, retaining wall of the nallah will also being raised by 2ft height to avoid the overflow of the water on the roadside.
He also directed the Executive Engineer (Jal Shakti department), Executive Engineer, JKPDCL of concerned division to immediately change the damaged water pipes carrying the supply of water from tube well at lower muthi to the various localities of ward and poles of high tension lines so that potable & uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity can be assured to the general public.
