Dogra front stage protest against unavailability of water | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 28: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena took out a protest rally in Jammu city against the non availability of water and electricity. The party workers were raising slogans against the department. The protestors were carrying fans, electrical fans and lamps signifying that when the people are paying their charges for the electricity then why there is no electricity available to the people in this scorching heat. Ashok Gupta said that last year 440 new transformers were promised by the electricity department but due to the COVID problem those transformers were given to the hospitals or replaced the old ones at the hospitals. Around 25-30 transformers are burned in the RS PURA area and Marh area has a lot of burned transformers as well. He further stated that as per the procurement process the obtained transformers are far less compared to the burned transformers. The rains are going to defunct more transformers of which no body has any knowledge. He said the people were having sleepless nights due to power cuts during night hours and the problem had become perennial but the authorities have failed to mitigate the miseries of the people. The party workers who were present at the time of protest were Abhishek, Ashish, Dilbag, Nattha, Parshotam, Binkle, Sushma, Nanki, Shweta, Soni and various others were present. |
