Early Times Report JAMMU, July 28: A one day Farmers' Training Camp was organized today by Farmers Training Centre, Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers' Welfare, Jammu under the guidance of Deputy Director Agriculture (Trainings) Anil Bakshi, here at Panchayat Nadore. A large gathering of farmers, including women farmers, attended the camp with due adherence to COVID-19 SOPs. The participants were sensitized about various farmers welfare schemes being implemented by the department of Agriculture including CSS, ATMA, Kisan Credit Cards (KCC),Soil Health cards (SHC),PM Formalization of Micro-Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) and Farm Mechanization etc. The farmers were also provided first hand information regarding diversification in agriculture by adopting Mushroom cultivation, Apiculture, Protected Vegetable Cultivation, Medicinal plants, Dairy Farming etc. Stress was given on formation of Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) for value addition of agri produce and better marketing to raise the economic status of the farming community. Those who addressed the farmers during the camp included Deepak Kumar, Farm Management Specialist, Yog Raj Singh, Training Officer, Rohit Gupta, Agriculture Information Officer and Prem Singh, SDAO, Dansal. The concerned Sarpanch Rajinder Singh, AEO, JAEO and AEAs also attended the camp. Literature regarding Improved Agricultural Practices, various schemes of the Agriculture Department and small hand tools were distributed among the farmers. |
