GDC Purmandal organises online intra-college competition

SAMBA, July 28: Department of environmental Sciences, Government Degree college, Purmandal organized an online activity on the theme 'Best Out of Waste' to commemorate World Nature Conservation Day on 28th of July 2021 under the guidance of worthy Principal Prof. Seema Mir and supervision of Prof. Shahima Akhter (HOD, Environmental Sciences).
A large number of students from the college participated in the competition and made some very interesting Art and Craft pieces from waste material's like newspapers, Shoe boxes, Wool Yarn, old clothes etc. Suman Devi and Diya Sharma clinched first and second position respectively while Lakshita Sharma stood third.
The consolation prizes were awarded to Mohd. Razak and Khadam Sofi Ulha of GDC, Purmandal. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Seema Mir (Principal, GDC Purmandal) thanked and appreciated all the participants for showcasing their artistic talent and creativity. In her address, she said that the resources should be used judiciously and it is the need of the hour to promote recycling of waste material as waste material disposal is a great challenge. The whole event was co-ordinated by Prof. Nirlape Kour (HOD, Pol. Science) and technically supported by Akshay (Computer operator of the college).
