GDC Darhal inaugurates 2-day international virtual conference

DARHAL, July 28: Two-day international virtual conference on "Recent Trends and Techniques in Mathematical and Computer Science" organized by Government Degree College Drahal in collaboration with cape comorin Trust, Tamil Nadu (India) and Lavender Literary Club was today inaugurated by Principal of the College Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia.
In his inaugural address Prof. Jasrotia said that it was a rare opportunity for a newly established college like GDC Darhal to organize such a mega event. He said that COVID pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for this college as online interactions in the form of webinars and virtual conferences has taken this college to international level and provided golden opportunity to listen and interact with academicians from highly reputed academic institutions from India and abroad. Prof. Aquil Ahmed, Chairman Department of Statistics & Operational Research, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (India) was the key note speaker in the conference. In his highly informative talk, Prof. Aquil deliberated on the "Role of Mathematical Sciences in decision making".
He said that everybody has to rely on Mathematics, whether it is collection of data, information, analysis, buying a car, vaccination against COVID-19, online shopping, stock market, psephology or quality of products. Prof. Madhu Jain, Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee was another key note speaker on this occasion. In her enlightened talk, Prof. Madhu deliberated on "Reliability of Software System".
She discussed in detail Process Fault in Software System, Software Reliability Growth Models and some Advanced Models related to Software. In the Plenary session speakers were Dr. Prasanthen Rajasingam, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Jaffna, Srilanka and Dr. Harish Garg, Department of Mathematics, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (India). Overall 30 research papers were presented on the first day of the conference. Earlier in his welcome address, Organizing Secretary of International Virtual Conference Dr. Ather Aziz Raina Head Department of Mathematics Govt. Degree College Darhal told that total number of 80 researchers shall be presenting their papers in the conference.
