Streamlined drainage is need to avoid damages from rains: Sat

JAMMU, July 30: Former Minister and ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma toured Ward 41 along with Councilor Sanjay Baru and assessed on ground situation with locals. Pertinent to mention, the locals called on the Former Minister to visit the area and take stock of the problems they were facing from many days. The leader was also accompanied by Mandal President Keshav Chopra, District General Secretary Rajesh Gupta and many others.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that several areas of the ward were toured along with the Corporator and team where people have demanded to create a streamlined system of drainage in their areas so that the damages from rains could be avoided. He said without a proper drainage system, the water is entering into the houses of people and he urged the concerned departments to seriously look into the matter. He asked them to create a proper system in the whole Jammu drainage so that in coming times such problems do not persist. He stated that during his tenure as MLA, major Deep drains in Jammu West were streamlined and constructed including Krishna Nagar - Canal road Deep drain, Shakti Nagar deep Drain and regular cleaning of Deep Drains was also done.
Sanjay Baru said that the locals have expressed their gratitude towards former MLA for touring their areas and listening to their problems. He also stated that with the efforts of Sat Sharma, power lines have been changed and two new transformers have been installed which changed the power infra in the Ward.
