Dy Mayor JMC distributes free ration

Jammu, Aug 1: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the presence of Former Minister Priya Sethi provided free ration supplies to the needy public of Jammu East, ward no. 01 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
Speaking during the free ration distribution Adv. Purnima Sharma said that today we are distributing free ration to the needy people of ward no. 01 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) which has been extended till Diwali this year to ensure nobody starves or stays hungry during this pandemic and free ration is provided to all those in need.
Thanking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, She further said that only BJP government cares of its citizens as a part of this central scheme, 80 crore Indians will receive a fixed quantity of food grains per month till November(Diwali).
"The food security welfare scheme was announced by the central government in March 2020 to ameliorate distress caused by Covid-19. It aims to feed the poorest citizens of the country by providing grain through the Public Distribution System, all ration card holders and those identified by the Antyodaya Anna Yojana scheme", Priya Sethi said.
