Meeting of J&K Religious Tourism Culture & Heritage held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: A meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Religious Tourism Culture & Heritage was held at Jammu, which was chaired by Sham Lal Sharma former Minister and Mahant Rajesh Bittu. Speaking during the meeting Sham Lal said he thanks Rajesh Bittu for gathering all the people of the various religious places of Jammu province and for taking the initiative for the promotion of religious tourism is Jammu provision. He further said that the proper way in which the tourism in J&K should have been promoted was not properly executed by the past kashmir centric government. The largest religious tourist place in jammu province i.e. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra where more than 1 Crore tourists come to visit the shrine. He further said that once a tourist enters from Lakhanpur there are a lot many religious shrines with great historic value till that individual reaches katra. But due to no promotion and development of such shrines, there is no tourist due to which the local businesses of the area suffer. He further added that most of the business in J&K run because of tourism. So in order to help the local businesses flourish and to spread the dogra culture and heritage among the whole country and the world, we need to promote religious tourism by promoting all the religious places of Jammu province and J&K. Sham Lal Sharma further added that he will discuss all the issues brought up in today's meeting, with the Government and with Members of Parliament of J&K so that the religious tourism can be promoted, promoting local business and dogra heritage and also it will promote Sanatan Dharm.
