Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 3: Division of Food Science and Technology of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), organized one day training programme on "Preparation of Papaya Jam" under RKVY project entitled , "Value addition of sub-tropical fruits for women empowerment in Jammu district" at village Assurwan, Mishriwala Zone. The programme was aimed at Preparation of Jam from Papaya fruit. In this training, about 40 rural farm women from village Assurwan, Mishriwala Zone participated. Rajnesh Rajput, JAEO at the start of the programme extended warm welcome to Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Principal Investigator, Nirmal Parkash Badyal AEO, Mishriwala, Naib Sarpanch, Panch, Officers of line departments and rural women. Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Principal Investigator, SERB DST Project instigates the training programme and gave a detailed demonstration for making Jam from Papaya fruit. The Principal Investigator also enumerated the nutritional importance and the multiple health benefits of this fruit. The farm women were accentuate to start their own house hold units by adopting these types of value addition techniques to make these fruits available throughout the year. At the end of the programme, Dr. Neeraj Gupta, PI, RKVY Project, Division of FST, Chatha, SKUAST Jammu expressed the vote of thanks to JAEO, AEO, Sarpanch, Panch, participants and the persons involved in the said training programme. |
