| Mayor JMC conducts tour of flood affected areas | | |

Jammu, Aug 3: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC alongwith Madam Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC conducted an extensive tour of different flood affected localities of ward no. 30, 40 & 14 and took stock of situation arisen due to incessant rains during the last night hours and overflowing of various nallahas flowing at vishal Nagar Talab Tillo, Durga Nagar Sec-2 Talab Tillo, Bhagwati Nagar and other localities.
Sat Pal Karlupia, Councillor of ward no. 32, prominent inhabitants of ward, Sh. Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Sh. Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer of Division-II, concerned field staff of Health Section & transport section of JMC were also remained present there. Concerned councilor apprised the Mayor & Commissioner that already an estimate of Rs. 2.83 lacs has been prepared & submitted for approval in the JMC for immediate boundary wall/ covering of the Nallah & asked them that necessary directions be passed to the Engineering section to start the work on urgent basis so that inhabitants living especially in the low lying areas of Vishal Nagar & adjoining localities may not suffer any more during rainy season.
Besides this, Mayor and Commissioner alongwith Madam Neelam Kumari Councillor of ward no. 40 also conducted tour of Durga Nagar Sec-2 Talab Tillo where the nallah flowing in the locality has also overflowed and dirty water, silt scattered in the public lanes during the last night rain. The team also visited Bhagwati Nagar & its adjoining localities of ward no. 14 alongwith Sh. Parmod Kapahi Councillor of ward met with the locals who apprised them that although the JMC has deployed its men & machinery for disilting the nallah but inspite of this the nallah has overflowed at certain spots and water has entered in the residential locality causing inconvenient to them.
