| PYS starts folk dance training workshop | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 9: Progressive Youth Society (Regd.) Ramnagar District Udhampur J&K started folk dance and Folk songs training workshop for children between 5 to 15 years in the premises of Dhoom Academy of Dance Udhampur in collaboration with Ministry of Culture Govt. of India.
Renowned theatre Director Sudesh Sultanpuri (National Awardee) was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with welcome address by Suresh Kumar followed by speech of Manoj Kumar Sharma "Nishchint" President Progressive Youth Society (Regd.) Ramnagar who explained the purpose of this workshop and got introduction of participants.
Some cultural performances were presented by the participants at this occasion before the audience which were appreciated. Uttam Singh "Albela"in his address stressed on the need of extra curricular activities like music, songs and dances along with education. Sultanpuri in his address asked the participants to be punctual, dedicated and enthusiastic to learn Folk dances like Kud, Geetru, Jagrana, Haran, Tamchada, Gidda, Fummania etc. with full attendance according to scheduled time table. Ashu Sharma President Of Dhoom Academy of Dance coordinated the event. |
