GDC Basohli organises online slogan writing competition

JAMMU, Aug 9: Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli organised an online slogan writing competition on the theme "patriotism" under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav"
In the welcome address, Dr. Jeevan Kumar briefed the function and talked about the significance and history of the independence. The motivational and patriotic lecture on role of citizens in independent India was also delivered by Professor Brham Dutt, Convener of the function. Eighteen students participated in the competition. Each student was given 20 minutes time for writing the slogan.
The event was judged by Dr. R.K. Manhas, Dr. Papinder Kumar and Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra. Among all the participants, Nandani of semester II secured first position, Lakshay Kattal of semester II secured second position, and Neelam Devi of semester IV secured third position. The proceeding of the event was attended by the students of the college and the faculty members Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Prof. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Kehar Singh, Prof. Suresh Barwal, Dr. Shiv Kumar, Dr. Shiv Mangal Singh, Sandeep Kumar and Sandeep Sharma. In her concluding remarks, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal reiterated the importance of independence and Independence Day to the participants, and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for holding such an interactive event. The program culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra.
