| WD organises awareness cum aid distribution camp at Jaganoo | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 9: A one day awareness cum distribution camp was today organized by Social Welfare Department Udhampur in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) here at Jaganoo .
BDC Chairman, Sanjeet Sharma; DDC member, Prikshit Singh; District Social Welfare Officer, Gourav Gupta besides Sarpanches, panches of adjoining panchayats and prominent citizens attended the programme on the occasion.
The DSWO explained the features and benefits of various schemes run by the Social welfare Department.
He appealed to the general public of the area to come forward and avail the benefits of these schemes.
The DSWO also requested all pension beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar with their respective bank accounts.
He informed that the assistive devices are being provided to the beneficiaries whose assessment has already been done by the ALIMCO.
He also added that similar assessment camps are being organized by the ALIMCO in coordination with the Social Welfare Department in remaining areas and asked PRIs to inform the beneficiaries about the same.
While addressing the camp, the BDC chairman and DDC member applauded the efforts made by the Social Welfare Department and ALIMCO for organizing this awareness cum distribution camp. They also appealed to the general public to avail the benefits of the schemes and asked DSWO Udhampur to implement the scheme on mission mode in coordination with PRIs and cover all the eligible beneficiaries.
In the camp, around 17 different Assistive Devices such as Wheel Chairs, Hearing Machines, Crutches, Clippers were distributed among the Specially Abled persons of the adjoining area. |
