NYK Rajouri organises Plantation, Swachhta drive in Block Manjakote

MANJAKOTE, Aug 9: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, under Swachhata Pakhwada (Fortnight) campaign, carried out Plantation and Cleanliness drives here at Government Hr Sec School, Gambhir Mughlan, Block Manjakote under Swachhta Pagwada campaign. Youth Volunteers and Youth Clubs of Block Manjakote participated in the drive.
The program started with singing of the National Anthem by the participants. Thereafter, a plantation drive was held in which more than 100 saplings provided by the Social Forestry Department were planted.
Rajinder Singh, Principal, Government Hr Sec School, Gambhir Mughlan, while addressing the gathering highlighted the role of Mahatma Gandhi in Swachhta Abhiyaan. He said that Swachhta or Cleanliness played a very important role in the life of the Father of the Nation. He appreciated the efforts of Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri for spreading awareness regarding Swastha Abhiyaan throughout the district and expressed hope it will continue its efforts in future also.
Mohammad Rehman delivered a lecture on the importance of plants and trees for ecological balance and said that to reverse the phenomenon of Global warming, more and more trees should be planted. National Youth Volunteers Rabia Mughal and Irfan Mukhtar, Fessar Amin, President, Amin Youth Club, Naheem Khan, President Khan Reflections Youth Club managed the proceedings of the program.
