Bureaucrats wasting time on social media
8/10/2021 10:53:32 PM

Instead of focusing on good governance, some bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir are busy spending time on social media.
Some of them rake up irrelevant issues on social networking sites and keep on posting such things that have got nothing to do with the issues confronting common people.
Netizens do try to apprise them about the problems being faced by a common man but fail to get any response from the other side. If any of the officials responds the answer is either vague or childish. On Tuesday evening people were annoyed over the killing of a BJP leader and his wife by terrorists in Kashmir. They posed some questions on social media with a hope that powerful babus would give an appropriate reply but they received immature responses from the higher-ups.
Officials ridiculing a common man has triggered resentment among the masses, who are already suffering due to governance deficit.
These babus have bulldozed the system of governance and eroded the sanctity of democratic institutions. They are enjoying power by demonizing politicians of all political parties including the BJP which is ruling the country.
Before taking to social media these bureaucrats should think twice about what they are posting. No one has given them any authority to ridicule the masses. Nor can they take everything for granted. Their arbitrary behavior and decisions have pushed people to the wall.
On August 5, this year many people in Jammu refrained from hoisting national flags atop their houses to celebrate the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. They did so as a mark of protest against the helmsmen, who leave no opportunity to mock them. The Centre needs to take note of the misdoings of such officers and shunt them out to pacify the anger that’s brewing against these officials. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is putting in sincere efforts to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach out to the poor people but some officials seem hell bent upon thwarting his attempts. LG Sinha has been leading from the front and has set many examples but the officials seem to take even his directions casually. They have to change their attitude. If they don’t perform they will have to perish. People are watching them and so is the Centre.
