Conclave on ‘Innovation and multi-cultural research in education’ organized

Jammu, Aug 10: Learner’s Ability Management Programme in collaboration with Dean, Faculty of Education, and University of Jammu organised IInd Millennial Conclave on “Innovation and Multi-Cultural Research in Education” on 10th August, 2021 at 11:00 am on virtual platform Google Meet.
Learners’ Ability Management Programme is the brain-child of Prof. Renu Nanda, Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Jammu whose sole purpose is to enhance the abilities and skills of the students and the research scholars in the area of educational research following trans-disciplinary approach. LAMP came into existence on 1st July, 2021. It is a platform where scholars are volunteering themselves as participants, organizers, managers, learners and most importantly support system to each other.
Prof. Flavia Stara, Professor in Philosophy of Education and Human Resources in Tourism, University of Macerata (Italy) was the key Resource Person. Prof. Manoj Dhar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Prof. Rajni Dhingra, Dean Research Studies was the special invitee on the occasion. The event started with Prayer Song by Ms. Sheetu Meenia.
Virtual Bouquet presented to the ‘Special Invitee’ of the Conclave followed by Profile Presentation of Prof. Rajni Dhingra. Prof. Dhingra delivered the ‘Formal Welcome Address’ and called this conclave a great success with the presence of participants having illuminating ideas.

Prof. Stara shared her reflections on multiculturalism by citing situations existed in Italy. She said that period of transition started with migration and innovation is required to accommodate social change. She laid emphasis on inclusive research and philosophical counselling.
The session was followed by Question-Answer Session in which participants asked varied and interesting questions from the Key Resource Person which was satisfied by Prof. Flavia Stara.
Prof. Renu Nanda, Dean Faculty of Education, Department of Education in her ‘Concluding Remarks’ appreciated Prof. Flavia Stara for highlighting various important aspects of multicultural research and said that every word of hers coincided with recommendations of NEP-2020. Formal ‘Vote of Thanks’ was proposed by Mrs. Sita Anand, Liasion Officer, GZSAC, and University of Jammu.
The conclave was attended by Guests from TISS Mumbai, NCERT, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, School Education Department Jammu and Himachal Pradesh, Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Head Department of Education, faculty members of Department of Education, Retired Professors of the Department including Prof. Mubarak Singh, Prof. S.P. Suri, Dr. Aruna Suri and Prof. Lokesh Verma, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Director HRDC University of Jammu, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Darshana Sharma from Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu, Cluster University of Jammu and SCERT, Jammu and Alumni of the Department.

The participants were from different Govt. Degree Colleges including Mendhar, Doda, Rajouri, Thathri, Poonch, Billawar, Surankote, Samba, Akhnoor, Udhampur, Kathua, Hiranagar, Chhatroo, Kargil, Nubra, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Zanskar and Drass. It also included faculty members from Rajiv Gandhi College of Education, Dogra College of Education, Tagore College of Education and M.C. Khalsa College of Education. Also, faculty from Badherwah Campus, University of Jammu were there. The research scholars from Department of Education and Department of Buddhist Studies also attended the event.
Dr. Ana Bali conducted the proceedings of the conclave whereas Sheetu Meenia presented prayer, Ms. Dyutima Kesar introduced the resource person and Dr. S. K. Pathania conducted Question-Answer session. The conclave ended with National Anthem and distribution of feedback forms.
