MUMKIN Scheme: Vice Chairman DDC Kathua hands over keys of vehicles to beneficiaries

KATHUA, Aug 10: Vice Chairman, DDC Kathua Raghunandan Singh today handed over keys of vehicles to four beneficiaries of MUMKIN Scheme here at a brief ceremony held in the office premises of District Employment & Counseling Centre. Assistant Director, Employment & Counseling Centre, Naresh Kumar; Cluster Head, J&K Bank Satish Sharma; representatives of JKEDI, Tata & Mahindra Company besides beneficiaries of MUMKIN scheme were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, DDC Vice Chairman said the MUMKIN scheme has been launched with the motive to support the unemployed youth of JKUT and make them self-reliant. He said the scheme offers 1.60 lakh subsidy to the beneficiaries for the purchase of small commercial vehicles and the remaining amount is provided under Mudra loan by Jammu & Kashmir Bank. He asked AD Employment to create maximum awareness about the scheme so that more youth come forward to avail the benefit of the scheme.
Assistant Director, Employment & Counseling Centre, Naresh Kumar informed that under MUMKIN scheme a total 62 applications has been received from the interested youth of Kathua district of which 38 cases have been sanctioned with all codal formalities. He said with the handing over of 4 vehicles, the total beneficiaries given commercial vehicles stands at 27. He said another scheme 'Tejaswani' has been launched under Mission Youth. "It is dedicated for women who have passed 10th class and fall in the 18-35 year age category. They can get a Rs. 5 lakh loan to start a business unit" he added.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav chaired the meeting of District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for MUMKIN scheme. The meeting approved 84 fresh cases of applicants who have applied from different parts of the district.
The financial assistance under this scheme is provided for purchase of new commercial small vehicles used for transporting goods (Mini trucks & Pickups).
