Councillor criticizes Jal Shakti deptt for its failure to provide potable water supply

KISHTWAR, Aug 16: Councillor ward no. 8 Municipal Committee Kishtwar Shahid Kripak has strongly criticised the Jal Shakti hydraulic division Kishtwar for its failure to supply drinking water to residents of Kishtwar particularly in ward number 8.
Kripak in his statement has said that the officials and officers of Jal Shakti PHE department are not listening to the residents, the residents have made several representations to the department to provide proper supply of drinking water to the residents.
Kripak regretted that the officials of PHE department were made several telephonic called by him but they are not attending the calls as a result of which the residents are continuously suffering on account of scarcity of drinking water . Kripak further added and said that Jal Shakti department has provided illegal water connections to influential persons in the town thereafter causing shortage of drinking water and they are facing manifold problems due to shortage of drinking water. Despite regular pleas to the Jal Shakti department, nothing has been done for the residents to overcome the problems arising due to shortage of drinking water.
He has urged the higher authorities of PHE department to provide portable over to the residents of ward no. 8 Municipal Committee Kishtwar at an earliest.
