JAMMU, Aug 16: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Dr. Akshay Kumar Sharma Councillor of ward no. 8 conducted an extensive tour in the premises of S.D Sabha School Rehari and its adjoining localities.
He took stock of the situation arisen due to broken nallah flowing through the locality as dirty water during rainy days overflows on the roadside & even in residential locality causes great hardships for the passersby and locals. Sh. Rakesh Kumar Gupta Superintending Engineer, Sh. S.K. Gupta Executive Engineer concerned Assistant Executive Engineer, Talat Mehmood Chief Transport Officer & other supervisory staff of Health & Transport Section as well as prominent inhabitants of the Rehari, Dogra Hall & other adjoining localities were accompanied the Mayor during the tour. People showed their great concern in terms of non execution of much needed construction work of the nallah by way proper bedding, its coverage with R.C.C walls and other allied works by the U.E.E.D as well as non lifting of mulba lying on the roadside since long.
Mayor listened to their grievances with great patience and issued on spot instructions to the engineers of UEED to start the required construction work of the nallah on urgent basis in consultation with the councilor of the ward. He also directed the Chief Transport Officer, JMC to deploy its men & machinery for lifting of the mulba & disilting the nallah within the shortest period of time in order to minimize the sufferings of the locals who extended gratitude to the Mayor for visiting the area & listening to their issues.
Besides this, Mayor alongwith S. Harvinder Singh Executive Engineer & other supervisory staff of Division-V also conducted tour at Bal Niketan School situated near Keshav Bhawan, extn. Karan Nagar, Jammu where P.K. Suresh. Secretary and other members of the management committee were also remained present & put forth various major issues which include proper levelling of the school ground, development of park and other works.
Mayor directed the concerned Executive Engineer & his team to take immediate necessary measures in terms of preparing of estimate of all these development works on urgent basis and complete it within the stipulated time frame. Mayor also appealed to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken in various wards of the city.
