Leh, Aug 16: On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Senior BJP Leader and Parliament Member Kamlesh Paswan hoisted the National Flag at NHIDCL headquarters in Ladakh. Kamlesh Paswan, who is an MP from Bansgaon, UP was accompanied by B K Chand, ED (P) RO-Ladakh and staff of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL). On the occasion, the parliamentarian appreciated the NHIDCL for executing various projects in the Union Territory of Ladakh at a ‘satisfactory pace’. National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation is a fully owned company of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The company promotes, surveys, establishes, designs, builds, operates, maintains and upgrades National Highways and Strategic Roads including interconnecting roads in parts of the country which share international boundaries with neighboring countries. In the Union Territory of Ladakh, NHIDCL has taken up three important tunnels Zojila Eastern Portal, Shinkun-La, Lachung-La and Tanglang-La for execution. The government owned company is also taking up various projects of different Departments including Ladakh Police, Urban Local Bodies (ULB), School Education, Hospitality & Protocol, and Social & Tribal Welfare Department.
