Narcotics seized, six arrested by Reasi police

REASI, Aug 19: Surprise nakas were laid at the entrance of town, raids and searches were conducted at different places by Reasi Police which led to arrest of six offenders alongwith Narcotics and other incriminating evidences.
During intervening night of 18/19th of August, team of Reasi Police laid a surprise naka on Katra-Reasi road at Simbal Chuwa, during checking one Vehicle Brezza bearing registration number JK 20B 9998 coming from Jammu to Reasi jumped the check point, was chased and again intercepted, during search of Vehicle Heroin (Chitta) was recovered from three youngsters Irfan Iqbal Wani S/O Iqbal Wani R/O Ward No 7 Reasi, Shakeel Ahmed S/O Abdul Latief R/O Panassa Reasi, Neeraj Sharma S/O Mast Ram R/O Ward no 12 Reasi who were traveling in the Vehicle. On this case FIR no 166/2021 US 8, 21, 22, 29 NDPS Act stands registered at Police station Reasi and accused got arrested.
During preliminary investigation it came to notice that one accused Irfan is a habitual drug peddler and arrested by Reasi Police in last month in Case FIR no.144/2021 US 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act registered on 12th of July 2021 in Police Station Reasi.
During sustained interrogation of the accused Irfan revealed his associates involved in the ugly business of selling, purchasing & consumption of Narcotics in Reasi Town. On his disclosure teams of Reasi Police conducted further multiple raids against drug abusers accompanied by Executive Magistrate (Tehsildar Reasi) that lead to the arrests of three more drug abusers-Abid Malik S/O Bashir Mohd R/O Chowk Chabutra Reasi, Ranjit Singh S/O Bahadur Singh R/O Mahadev Reasi, Chandan S/O Kartar Chand R/O Geeta Nagar Reasi and incriminating materials & evidences were recovered that were used in drugs abuse including Syringes, burnt foil papers, partially burned rolled currency notes of ? 10 etc from their possession. On this these three accused are also booked and sent to District Jail Reasi by the order of Executive Magistrate.
Further investigation of the case will explore the more members of this racket in & around the town including the chain of source & other consumers in the town. Accused Irfan has been bailed out in the case in which he was arrested five weeks earlier despite strong objections submitted by the police before the Court. New facts regarding earlier case against hardcore Irfan are surfacing which need proper digging of facts. Fresh appeal will be filed before the Hon'le court for cancellation of his earlier bail order so that his custody can be taken by the concerned Investigating Officer & investigation is thoroughly done.
Accused Neeraj Sharma, a door to door delivery boy of private courier company eCom Express was ferrying in the city lanes on a scooty & was a most frequent visitor in every nook & corner of the Reasi. His job profile easily concealed his ugly deeds of spreading drug abuse in the city. He has been the trusted sales & delivery boy of Accused Irfan for the Reasi town for youngsters. At the same time Shakeel is the driver of load carrier & another trusted man of accused Irfan. Shakeel ran the network amongst drivers community. This is a racket of hardcore drug peddlers engaged in dirty trade of playing with innocent lives of youngsters who are future of the nation. They have been found fit cases to be placed under constant surveillance even if they are bailed out, under Register no 10 of Police Station with their individual history sheets.
