Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 19: Joining 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' as part of the celebrations of 75th year of India's Independence, Dr. Vikram Gulati of Udhampur cycled 75 Kilometres to reach Jammu. His solo cycling expedition from Udhampur to Jammu was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to stay fit, do Yoga and become aatmanirbhar. His journey concluded at Residency Road, Jammu where he was received by BJP J&K Executive Member Raman Suri. While welcoming, Raman Suri said that Dr Vikram Gulati, Ph.D M.Ed PGDCA BCOM (Hons.), is a patriot, teacher trainer, Yoga practitioner, cyclist and belongs to a war veteran family who fought for the country in wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971. He said that Dr Gulati's cycle expedition will encourage many young boys and girls to stay fit and lessen their dependency on others besides medicines, which will also enable them to contribute in nation building in the healthiest manner. Three times University Gold Medalist from Jammu, Delhi & Panjab University Chandigarh, Dr Gulati has held several yoga camps for municipal workers, CRPF soldiers, health workers, teachers, students and shopkeepers. A committed Indian, he has also completed more than 150 long rides to pay tributes to Freedom Fighters, Sikh Gurus, Indian Scientists, Soldiers and Indian Reformers. |
