DC Doda inspects working of GMC's Associated Hospital

DODA, Aug 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today paid surprise visit to Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Doda early in the morning and took appraisal of working of the hospital and availability of doctors including supporting staff. He visited the OPD block and inspected the registration counters, Covid testing counter, and availability of Doctors in the OPD, department wise.
He expressed strong dissatisfaction over non availability of some doctors in the OPD. He sought explanation for lackadaisical approach and directed for enforcing punctuality. The Medical Superintendent was directed to make sure the roster of Doctors is circulated in public and also ensure the Doctors attend OPD on time for patient care. The DC also directed the MS to shift the Covid material from the registration counter at OPD block and make the second registration counter operational for the convenience of the patient.
While checking the indoor patient block (IPD), the DC stressed on the sanitation of washrooms and general cleanliness of the wards. He instructed the MS to deal with cleanliness without any compromise and ensure the same round the clock.
He also asked for establishing a 24×7 public grievance redressal cell. He appreciated the Covid related management staff and directed the MS to attend to their requirements.
While reviewing the mechanism of Golden cards, the MS was directed to make the system more transparent and ensure that patients are provided the services hassle free. Additional Deputy Commissioner was asked to comprehensively review the arrangements in this regard and to ensure streamlining of this important sector.

nducting IEC activities, managing queues and observance of Covid appropriate behaviour in the hospital. The Principal GMC was asked to look into the system of referral so as to ensure that the referrals are not unreasonable. The MS was directed to beautify the premises and install signboards depicting the details of the government schemes and delivery system.
Further, the MS was directed to immediately repair the X-ray machine in the Emergency/ Casualty section. The DC further directed to make sure daily reporting on working of all the equipment/ machines from all the departments and that effective maintenance contract be ensured for equipment/ diagnostic machines.
DC also inspected the working of Oxygen Generation plant and parking area. The DC directed the concerned to plan for better management of traffic/ parking space so that the movement of patients, doctors and ambulance doesn't hamper. While interacting with attendants of the patients he also directed to make sitting arrangements for attendants with due care of Covid-19 safety protocols.
The DC also paid visit to the dumping yard and directed for regular lifting of infectious and non infectious waste as per the set protocol, besides he stressed on cleanliness of in and around of the Hospital without any fail on daily basis. The MS was further directed to restructure the dumping yard and dump the material in a scientific manner.
Meanwhile, the DC also checked the feasibility of an alternate road to hospital and asked the concerned to make DPR, necessary papers and propose alternate access to the Hospital alignment for linking hospital with Parmaz road.
Among others accompanied the DC are MS Associated Hospital, Tehsildar Doda, DIO Doda besides other concerned.
