GDC Ukhral celebrates Raksha Bandhan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 22: Government Degree College (GDC) Ukhral in collaboration with RR 12 Battalion of Ukhral celebrated Rakshabandhan with religious fervor and enthusiasm. The local girls tied rakhis on the wrist of Army jawans and also applied tilak on their forehead as a goodwill gesture. It is a day which is not bound by any religion, caste or creed, everyone celebrates it with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The event was graced by Principal of the college, Dr Ranvijay Singh. He said that Raksha Bandhan is the most celebrated festival and congratulated all on the occasion. The Principal appreciated the role of Army jawans for the security, happiness and prosperity of the nation in the same way in which a brother sacrifices himself for the happiness of his sister. During the event Army jawans interacted with local residents and shared their experience of tough and challenging Army life. Subedar Bharth Singh expressed gratitude for the gesture of college administration and local residents towards Army jawans. The sweets were distributed to everyone on the occasion
