Jammu, Aug 22: A retired jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed rifle in Kanhachak area here in the city outskirts, police said on Sunday. Police said that the ex-serviceman, identified as Kuldeep Singh Chib,48, of village Hari Singh Gharat in Kanachak area, late Saturday night shot himself with a licensed weapon at his residence. "As per initial reports, he had committed suicide," police here said, adding that Forensic Team has collected the fingerprints and evidences from the spot. "No suicide note was found on the spot. We are ascertaining the cause of the extreme step," said police. |
