BJP leader Raman Suri hails allotment of land to SASB | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 22: Hailing J&K administration for allotting 25 Kanals of land to Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) for construction of an office and a Yatri Niwas at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri said that the facilities created within a stipulated time period will help pilgrims avail better accommodation and they will also be able to gather all information from one point before setting off their journey to Baltal or Pahalgam. Raman Suri said that this was a much needed requirement of SASB, which stands fulfilled at a very appropriate time. Raman Suri said that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on August 6, had laid the foundation stone for the “Yatri Niwas” and the office of the SASB and now that land has been allotted, it is going to further smoothen the annual pilgrimage to a large extent. He said that a similar kind of Yatri Niwas is also needed at Pahalgam and Baltal, the two base camps of Yatra, and hoped that the manner in which infrastructure is being strengthened, the annual pilgrimage will become more convenient for devotees of Lord Shiva. Raman Suri said people of Jammu and Kashmir besides those of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and all other states and also from countries across the globe, have strong faith in Lord Shiva and desire to carry out pilgrimage round the year but lack of facilities and allied issues always curtail the yatra to a few days only. He hoped that with such facilities coming up, pilgrimage will be carried out round the year. He added that this news of allotment of land has sent a wave of happiness amongst the devotees.
